The Cape West coast was first inhabited by the Khoisan people who believed to have lived here around 2000 years ago. Visitors to the Cape West Coast can explore a multitude of fascinating Bushman Rock Art sites in the Cederberg Mountains and other areas of the Cape West Coast.
Europeans arrived here while searching for a trade route to India and in 1795 the British took over the Cape Colony. In 1961 South Africa became and independent country and in 1994 had their first democratic election.
Today the Cape West Coast is a well-know holiday destination amongst international tourist and local holiday goers. |
